I really like Romona Keveza - check it out here http://www.ramonakeveza.com/

Can someone please offer ideas on bridesmaid dresses? They're all so BLECH!

ya black. Always safe. Also try to pick something they would really wear again, or it's just a waste.

I agree with that. I have seen bridesmaid dresses in the same fabric and color for each bridesmaid, but each bridesmaid picked out the cut most flattering or most preferable to her. That sort of ensures that the bridesmaid will wear the dress again, and wear it with pride, because she likes it. It doesn't bode well for continuity's sake, though, so it just depends on what you're aiming for.

In two of the weddings I've been in, the bridesmaid dresses were two pieces - a strapless bodice top and a long, full skirt. I suppose that's something you could consider. However, I now have two of the same type of dress, in different colors, that I will never wear again because they were light enough to get stained with wine. But the two-piece thing is an idea, because it allows for truer measurements and better fits.

Laura,
First, I LOVE your photo.

Second. Black is a good idea - but everyone does black - what other colors work?

Red - NO
Blue -NO
Orange - NO -NO NO

I'm thinking champagne?

Other ideas?

do NOT get b-maid dresses from Siri Inc.  They do not look like they do on the website in person.  And don't use that fucking silk that stands up on its own.  Everyone hates that shit.  Oh yeah and don't do silver sage.  That soft green that EVERYONE picks (including my sister)

I've heard of people not only getting the same color and fabric in different cuts like fayza mentioned above but you could also get the same dress in different colors of the same color family like jewel tones or neutrals

i think darker colors are easier to wear for many women. these bridesmaids wore deep brown, which might be nice for an autumn wedding. (the groomsmen wore brown vests and ties to match). burgundy could work, also.

To make it even more memorable you could give your bridesmaid a gift which will always remind her of the moment when you asked her to be your bridesmaid. If its within your budget you could buy her a luxury item which you know she has been coveting for a while.
